Description: We have focuses our project on the medical practices which were carried out during the Volstead Act. In fact, we have shown how the doctors used to make prescriptions for their patients, and this measure was based in two purposes.The first one was the believe of the real healthy profit of drunking alcohol; and the second one, was the economic benefit they had.. Due to that medical bussiness, the
pharmacist guild joined to this activity. Then, the government showed his disagreement with the Medical Community and rejected their proposal. And, finally, we have made a comparison between this old activity and the actually controversial fact of the legalization of the marijuana located in California.
